Emiko started playing the violin at four years old after her parents discovered a family legacy of violinists dating back to her ancestors in Sweden. She grew up studying classical violin and viola performance in Los Angeles, Japan, Belgium and at the Royal College of Music in London, England. While living in London, Emiko began to explore performing and creating in different musical genres. It was these shows and projects that inspired her to begin lending her string voice through arranging and producing for all types of artists.

Over the last ten years, Emiko has written and recorded for a number of artists including Jeremy Zucker, Syd, half•alive, and Sleeping At Last. She has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the Late Late Show with James Corden, NPR Tiny Desk, and several stages across the US, UK, and Europe.
